Well most of you know that Alexa is a dancer and she competes with her performing company at her dance studio. It is an ungodly expense but extremely rewarding for her, an awesome opportunity to dance and learn from true professionals in the industry and a flat out fantastic accomplishment. We could not be more proud of her. She is a Fly Girl at heart and we are loving every minute of it. This year, she has really stepped up her game and has quite a few stand out parts. Her forte is hip hop, this girl can move to any beat. So to make a long story short the costumes for this particular hip hop dance was pretty intense it was a funky mix of layered pieces. Now Christina, who is Alexa's company dance teacher knew that Alexa being the little diva that she is needed something that screamed Funky. Well she had the idea of putting Alexa in this custom made tutu. The whole ensemble is a combination of purples and blacks and is fab-U-lous and those pictures are going to follow, but getting back to the point of this post is that she had asked that the shoes worn for this dance be street shoes, any type of funky shoe you can find. Well refering to the title of me being an overachiever no ordinary street shoe will do. I came up with the idea that i wanted Alexa to have these graffiti boots. Something so urban and so funky she would look totally cool. Well I had no idea that graffiti was an actual art but after extensive research including touching base with every artistic friend I have, a pair of payless black boots and a shaking hand gripped to a silver sharpie, my vision took shape and I have to say, she will be the only one wearing them and I think they look awesome.
